Other winter sports

Those who seek variation apart from the runs and snowparks find a fitting change in a toboggan ride. The ski resorts have quite a bit to offer here: the longest sledding run in the Zillertal, 7 km long, leading down into the valley. A great enjoyment for the whole family!

One should also not miss the illuminated sledding runs that operate till late at night. And, the Arena Coaster does of course also invite you to racy rides.

Winter hiking

Hardly anyone can escape the romance of the Zillertal Alps in winter. Exploring the Zillertal is especially rewarding when the sky is a deep blue and the valley is covered with a huge white blanket of snow. There are many winter hikes that run around Aschau and Thurnbach that can be comfortably explored.

More than 50 km of these hiking trails are managed to offer pleasant walks. The most well knowns are the great round around Zell am Ziller (Große Runde um Zell am Ziller), the Ziller Promenade or a hike to the Astachhof. The typical options to stop off for refreshments are of course not missing.
